Creating a Concept

Creating a Concept

The conception of this concept, and even the ability to articulate it, has been an enthralling odyssey of boundless experimentation, unwavering passion for my field, moments of profound despair, overwhelming challenges, and triumphant breakthroughs. I am immensely gratified that we have reached this juncture and am actively engaged in its implementation. For me, sharing the narrative is a crucial aspect, but it is not the sole domain of writing and speaking. The essence lies in tangible actions, the creation of a management system that encapsulates the concept, and the seamless integration of MC² into its functioning. This process will unfold step by step, and if you choose to follow it, you will become an integral part of this journey.

It was back in 2018, when ChapmanCG was 10 years old, that I conceived a distinct concept known as ChapmanV. This acronym stood for Chapman Vision, representing a broader ecosystem that encompassed HR leaders. I had been cultivating an HR network for over a decade, but I was cognizant of the existence of an even larger network that lay beyond my reach. I envisioned developing a model akin to an HR venture capital fund or a comprehensive HR platform, but my enthusiasm waned.

As the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020 and I faced immense pressure in managing my businesses, I teetered on the brink of abandoning my ChapmanV ideas. However, I began to observe my own well-being and recognized the paramount significance of self-preservation in this era. I felt a profound sense of kinship with entrepreneurs like myself who were experiencing burnout and understood the necessity of disconnecting from our current pursuits, taking a break, and prioritizing our well-being. Subsequently, I envisioned these entrepreneurs seeking the services of a well-being custodian who could guide them in establishing a well-being-centric culture from the ground up. I meticulously crafted my own scenario and envisioned the ideal outcomes. Naturally, I envisioned multiple iterations of myself.

Concurrently, in my new country of New Zealand, I embarked on a profound exploration of experimental well-being, diligently implementing every concept presented to me. I acquired strategies previously unfamiliar to me, enabling me to effectively manage anxiety, restore my nervous system, and enhance my performance. My encounter with well-being-oriented individuals in New Zealand inspired me to believe that I possessed the potential to bridge the gap between two distinct worlds.

I focused on establishing a network that was centered around well-being and encompassed individuals from diverse backgrounds, ranging from leaders to potential chief wellness officers, everyone interested in well-being, and even friends and family. While I categorized this collective as a well-being network, I recognized its true nature as a network of positive energy.

I oscillated between Parihoa Network and MC², as the name underwent constant change. Should it be my name? Should it be the name of a place? Ultimately, I decided to merge both names into a cohesive solution. I also contemplated whether a singular "all-in-one platform" was truly necessary at the outset for the Network. Alternatively, I believed that various traditional structures could harness the energy of the network and concentrate on connecting individuals through shared values. I ultimately opted for the latter approach, reserving the former for a future date.

The essence of this journey lies in the fact that anyone with a significant idea, uncertain about its eventual outcome, has experienced similar challenges. Many individuals on this journey have encountered the uncertainties surrounding the viability of the idea or its eventual demise. I express my gratitude to all stakeholders for their contributions.

Ultimately, the network will be shaped by its members. My primary objective is to initiate the network and facilitate a collective journey among its members. This collective journey will involve understanding the skills, interests, and desires of individuals not only in their professional lives but also in their personal lives. This holistic approach to talent will distinguish MC² and create an energy that can support the lives of all members within the network. The positive aspect is that everyone is currently on their own journeys and actively engaged in their respective pursuits. The Network will serve as an enabler and facilitator for their growth and development.
